Similarly to the Reebok, this move is named after a well-known shoe brand – Fila!
There are two versions of this move that are based on slightly different grooves, but the moves are similar enough that you can learn ‘em both and use them to the same song.

How to do The Fila
- You’re gonna start by doing a 2 Step to an easy-to-follow beat. But for this 2 Step, instead of going side to side, your going to go backward and forward – to do this, you’re going to have your left leg in front and right leg behind you so you can step and tap your feet while rocking your torso forward and back to the beat. This back and forth 2 Step is the first groove option.
- For a second groove option, you’re going to do a side to side sway. For this variation, stand with your feet a little more than shoulder-width apart. Then, sway your torso from side to side to the beat, allowing your shoulders and arms to loosely swing and sway inward as you transfer your weight from right to left.
- Ok, now that you have both grooves down, let’s start practicing the details. Start doing your backward and forward 2 Step groove, but this time, as you step forward onto your left foot, you’re gonna bring your right shoulder forward and down as if you’re swinging that shoulder to the floor. Allow your arm to fully follow through the shoulder motion, so your arm should swing and your hand should come forward.
- Next, as you step back onto your right foot, you’re going to hop off the right foot and clap your hands above you mid-jump.
- Practice the step, jump, and clap all together to the beat. As you practice, repeat to yourself, “forward, and clap, forward and clap.”
- Once you’ve got that down, try the other version. For the side to side version, you’re gonna step to the left, step to the right, step to the left, and then jump off your left foot and clap. As you do the steps, say “step, step, step, and clap.”
All done!
Keep in mind that when you’re dancing at a party, you can switch between each version to keep things interesting. :)
